EU natural gas imports
Where the EU-27's gas comes from, and how much of it arrives by pipeline rather than as LNG. Everything here is imports from outside the EU-27. Hover or use the arrow keys for the numbers behind any year.
Eurostat nrg_ti_gas: imports of natural gas into the EU-27 by
partner country, pipeline (G3000) and LNG (G3200)
summed. TJ gross calorific value; 3,600 TJ = 1 TWh.
Only six suppliers can have their own colour. Eight simultaneous categories is the point past which a stacked band cannot be told from its neighbour reliably, so the Detail control is a choice between two fixed sets rather than a free pick. The data table always lists all ten named suppliers, whatever the chart is showing.
"Group European suppliers" replaces Norway with a combined Norway, United Kingdom and Azerbaijan band. It replaces rather than sits beside Norway, so the two are never on screen at once.
Flows between member states are netted out. Eurostat's
partner=TOTAL counts them as imports — in 2024 the
Netherlands alone is 7% of it — so the 27 member states are subtracted
to leave imports from outside the EU. The data table shows both figures.
"Other" is then the residual against that: everything from outside the EU that is not one of the named suppliers, including Trinidad and Tobago, Peru, Türkiye and Eurostat's own "not specified". It always closes the balance.
